Storm Damage Roof Repair and Replacement.

For those of you with roof storm damage, we understand just how frustrating it can be. Whether you lose an entire part of your roof that causes your home to flood, or just have minor storm damage, no one wants to have to deal with it. Without a great contractor, securing your home and dealing with the insurance company can be overwhelming. Our goal is to assist you through the whole process and ensure your repairs get made quickly and professionally.
If you plan to replace the roof on your commercial or residential property and have questions regarding the process, let My Town Roofing help.

What is Storm-Related Roof Damage?

As the phrase implies, roof storm damage occurs due to a storm. The following types of damage fall under this category:

Our Insurance Claims Process.

After you’ve scheduled an inspection, our team will come onsite and thoroughly inspect your roof and take photos of any damage. You’ll receive a report that includes detailed damage documentation, photos, and an estimate with multiple options. Then you’ll file a claim with your insurance company. Your insurance company will send out an adjuster to inspect the roof and your project manager will meet with the adjuster onsite to act in your best interest and ensure the adjuster understands all aspects and documentation of our detailed report.
0 %

of roof leaks are caused by incorrect roofing installations.

How Much Does it Cost to Fix a Storm Damaged Roof?

Depending on the extent of the damage, you could be looking at minor roof repairs or even a complete roof replacement.
The good news is that roof storm damage is typically covered by homeowner’s insurance, as long as you comply with the following terms:
Use A Reputable Roofing Contractor

Don't treat your roof like a DIY project or opt for the cheapest roofing contractor. Insurance doesn’t cover damage caused by improper roof installation.

Take A Proactive Approach

Get your roof inspected by our team after any severe storms. We'll take a look and diagnose any storm damage or problems with the structural integrity.

Regular Maintenance

Negligence can void an insurance claim. Conduct frequent visual inspections on your own. If something isn't right, call My Town Roofing to get any work completed.

Don't Put Off Replacing Your Roof

Most insurance companies offer little to no coverage to replace or repair a roof that's old, gradually deteriorating due to wear-and-tear, or neglected.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are just some of the questions that we often receive from our customers. Don’t see the question you have? No problem. Just give us a call at (901) 834-7663.

First, it’s important that you remember that a lot of storm  damage to your roof isn’t always visible.

While large hail, trees, or fallen limbs can cause visible damage to your roof, there are usually other types of damage that are easy to overlook.

The most obvious damage is to your the integrity of your shingles which can compromise the integrity and longevity of your roof.

If hail comes with high winds or lasts longer than a few minutes, even small-sized hail can create severe damage to your roof shingles and degrade protective granules. Losing shingle granules will significantly reduce the lifespan of your roof and can expose the glass based center of the shingles to UV rays from the sun. Deterioration of your roof shingles can occur in a short period of time.

So,  it’s always a good idea to have your roof inspected by an experienced roofing contractor after bad weather or a severe storm.

After a severe storm, contact My Town Roofing and schedule an inspection. Our team is trained to identify and verify the extent of all storm-related damage (both visible and non-visible) and outline how it should be repaired or replaced.

Here’s just a few of the questions we suggest you ask any roofing contractor inspecting your roofing system:

  • What is the replacement cost value of my roof?
  • Will my insurance adjuster be an in-home adjuster or a cat-adjuster?
  • What is the full process of insurance claims and payments?
  • What are my options if an adjuster didn’t or doesn’t provide enough money for quality roof repairs or a roof replacement?

Most insurance companies subscribe to weather tracking and storm reporting services to monitor areas that may be affected and submitting claims.

For this reason, the severity and location of a storm may already be known by your insurance company and damages can be expected.

If we’ve recently had a severe storm in our areas, call My Town Roofing today!

It’s best if our inspector can be present when the insurance adjuster visits your home for their inspection.

It is your legal right to have a representative with you during the insurance claim inspection. No adjuster can enter your premises without your permission. Insist on scheduling an appointment that we can be present for.

This is the best way to ensure you receive a full claim for all storm-related damages.

After your claim has been approved, the insurance company will pay for the damages. You should receive your first check usually within 5-7 business days. This first check is called your ACV (Actual Cash Value), which is the monetary value of what is to be paid today based off the age and condition of the items.

In some cases, if you are present during the inspection with the adjuster and the adjuster is an in-house adjuster, they will actually write you a check and hand you your paperwork on the spot.

This check will be the value of the job less the value of the depreciation. Depreciation is based off of the age and condition of the damaged items. They take this money and hold it to make sure the work is completed correctly.

In most cases the depreciation is recoverable. Recoverable depreciation is dependent upon the job being completed for the “Fair Market Price” the insurance company has estimated the job for or greater.

Many homeowners never get the depreciation back because they chose the lowest bid or worked with a roofing contractor who doesn’t know how the insurance process works.

Choosing the lowest roofing bid when insurance has estimated the value of the roofing repair or replacement would not get your roof fixed properly or completely.

At My Town Roofing, we can handle the full repair, handle any related permits, scheduling, and coordination with your insurance company.
